Ipamorelin: A Research Guide

Ipamorelin is studied as a highly selective growth hormone secretagogue, one that stimulates GH release without the cortisol or prolactin elevation seen with earlier-generation compounds in this class.

Mechanism

Earlier secretagogues such as GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 raise cortisol alongside growth hormone, which can promote fat storage and muscle catabolism. Ipamorelin's selectivity profile avoids that trade-off. Research also shows increased slow-wave sleep within two weeks of study initiation, the sleep phase associated with peak natural GH release and muscle protein synthesis.
